Grading & Earthwork
Commercial rough grading, fine grading, and mass earthwork — precision pad preparation that sets the foundation for everything built on top of it.
Grading Is the Foundation of Every Project
Everything built above grade — buildings, roads, parking lots, utilities — performs only as well as the earthwork beneath it. Inadequate compaction causes differential settlement. Improper drainage grades cause water intrusion. Wrong subgrade elevations cause problems that are expensive to fix after vertical construction begins. We bring GPS machine control equipment, experienced grade checkers, and licensed personnel to deliver precision earthwork that passes geotechnical inspection.
- GPS machine control equipment for motor graders and dozers — precise to 0.10 foot
- Rough grading and mass earthwork with cut-and-fill balance calculations
- Fine grading of building pads, parking areas, and road subgrade to design elevation
- Compaction testing at each fill lift with density reports for permit closeout

GPS Machine Control — Accuracy Without Rework
Our heavy equipment uses GPS machine control for motor grader and dozer blade positioning — achieving tolerance within 1/10th of a foot to design elevation without conventional stakes. This reduces staking costs, speeds grading operations, and virtually eliminates the expensive rework that results from conventional grading errors.

Grading & Earthwork Scopes
Every earthwork scope from rough clearing through final pad preparation.
Rough Grading
Mass earthwork to bring a site from existing ground to approximate finished grade — cut-and-fill operations, haul management, and stockpile construction to balance earthwork on-site.
Fine Grading
Precision grading of building pads, parking areas, road subgrade, and utility trenches to within 0.10 foot of design elevation — verified with grade rods and GPS equipment.
Fill Compaction
Moisture-conditioned fill placement in maximum 8-inch loose lifts, compacted with vibratory roller equipment to specified density — every lift tested and documented.
Drainage Grading
Final surface grading to achieve positive drainage away from structures, toward collection points — with swales, berms, and slope transitions designed to prevent ponding.
