PVC Roofing Systems
Chemical and grease-resistant PVC single-ply membranes — the roofing system of choice for restaurants, commercial kitchens, and manufacturing facilities.
When Ordinary Roofing Isn't Enough
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) roofing membranes were developed specifically to handle the one challenge that degrades other roofing systems fastest: chemical and grease exposure. Restaurant exhaust systems deposit airborne grease and cooking oils on rooftop surfaces. Industrial facilities expose roofing to chemical fumes, solvents, and acids. PVC's inherent chemical resistance makes it the specification of choice for these demanding environments — and Patriot Asphalt and Construction's GS-21 licensed crews install it right.
- Resistant to grease, fats, oils, and common industrial chemicals
- Dimensionally stable — minimal thermal expansion/contraction cycling
- Available in fleece-backed versions for enhanced adhesion on specialty substrates
- Compatible with rooftop HVAC systems and restaurant exhaust grease traps

Heat-Welded for Absolute Water Resistance
Like TPO, PVC membranes use hot-air welded seams — creating a homogeneous, monolithic joint that is actually stronger than the membrane itself. Properly welded PVC seams are the most reliable watertight joint in the flat roofing industry, and our installers are factory-trained to achieve them consistently.

PVC Roofing Applications
Where PVC outperforms every other commercial roofing system.
Restaurant & Food Service
Airborne grease from commercial kitchen exhaust hoods rapidly degrades TPO and EPDM membranes. PVC's chemical resistance makes it the only appropriate specification for restaurant rooftops.
Manufacturing & Industrial
Solvent vapors, acid fumes, and chemical exposure from industrial processes attack standard roofing membranes. PVC provides the chemical barrier that industrial facilities require.
Commercial Kitchens & Commissaries
High-volume food production facilities with multiple exhaust systems benefit from PVC's combination of grease resistance and proven long-term performance.
Healthcare Facilities
Medical office buildings and healthcare campuses use PVC for its proven performance, clean aesthetic, and compatibility with medical gas and mechanical system roof penetrations.
PVC Roofing FAQ
For restaurant applications, PVC is the clear choice. Grease from kitchen exhaust systems will degrade a TPO membrane significantly faster than PVC. We always specify PVC for buildings with commercial cooking operations.
PVC materials cost approximately 15–25% more than TPO per square foot. For most applications, the performance premium is justified, and for chemical-exposure applications, it's the only appropriate specification.
In many cases, yes — subject to a core sample inspection confirming insulation condition and local jurisdiction requirements. We assess this during our free inspection.
