Flat and low-slope roofing requires precise engineering that sloped roofing does not — because water cannot rely on gravity to drain itself off the roof. Every flat roof must have adequate drainage design, with minimum 1/4 inch per foot of slope toward roof drains to prevent ponding water. Ponding water on any membrane system accelerates deterioration and is the primary cause of premature flat roof failure. We engineer drainage into every system we install.
